itlembik is a small enterprise that started out as a translation company until publishing a guide book to the Bosphorus in 2000. This was followed by a couple of other guide books before the translation company actually hired someone to look after its publications. Two people became five and the company became totally immersed in its publication activities. In May, Çitlembik published its first books in Turkish translation, Marilyn Yalom's A HISTORY OF THE BREAST and bell hooks' FEMINISM IS FOR EVERYBODY. Çitlembik's mission is to publish non-fiction and literary works that will benefit Turkish readers and will inform people about important issues for Turkey and for the world. Non-fiction topics include: globalization issues, women and gender studies, travel in Turkey and a series on film and theater studies.
