Bebek is the youngest member of the family of ferryboats that travel back and forth across the waters of the Bosphorus, the strait that divides the city of Istanbul in two. As the littlest one in the family, Bebek isn't given anything to do, and she feels bored and left out. But when Istanbul is suddenly hit one day by the worst blizzard in fifty years and the city's bridges are closed, the family of ferryboats has to work overtime in order transport stranded passengers home. Finally, Bebek has the chance to prove to her family that she's big and responsible enough to carry passengers, too.

About the Authors
Wylla Waters was born in Iran of an American Consulate family and spent her childhood in India, Turkey and Africa. She graduated from Barnard College of Columbia University in New York City. She now lives in Istanbul and teaches English at the Istanbul International Community School.
